GRAB THE MIC at TPF 2025
Unless you are a regular attendee of any of the poetry open mics around Tasmania you probably aren’t aware of all the everyday people who share their poems with others on a regular basis. We would love to hear you poems too! So dust them off and come to the Tas Poetry Fest 25 open mic!
A poetry open mic is an inclusive event where anyone can perform their own poems or stories in front of a supportive audience, fostering a sense of community.. Open mics provide a platform for both new and experienced writers to share their creative expression in a low-pressure, encouraging environment.
First thing on Sunday morning, not too early at 9.30am we will be opening up the floor to the public to read at Tas Poetry Fest. Names of readers are taken at the door and the only thing you need to do is buy a ticket to that Sunday morning session, the full day Sunday or a festival pass.
The Tasmanian Poetry Festival is happening from Friday Oct 10-Sunday Oct 12 at various venues across Launceston. The “festival proper” which runs all day Saturday and Sunday will be held at QVMag , Inveresk precinct, Launceston.
