Kim Nielsen-Creeley

Kim Neilsen Creeley PoetBorn in Queenstown, the copper heartland of Lutruwita/Tasmania, Kim’s poetry is rooted in place—forests, rivers, rail lines and industrial scars. Her work explores the layered intersections of land, memory, and language, shaped by a deep sense of history and family.

A visual artist as well as a poet, Kim’s drawings often feature poetry embedded beneath the surface. Her debut collection Extraction (Walleah Press, 2024) was long listed for The Tim Thorne Poetry Prize, where it received a highly commended. Extraction has been praised for its honesty, lyrical vulnerability, and deep Tasmanian resonance—and will soon be released as an audiobook.
